Buckinghamshire
We provide specialist learning disability health services for people in Buckinghamshire. There are opportunities to work in our community services within Buckinghamshire, based in High Wycombe.
The county of Buckinghamshire offers a great combination of town and country living with countryside and rolling hills on your doorstep along with easy links to the capital, Birmingham and Oxford.
An area of outstanding natural beauty, it has been ranked as one of the top rural areas to live in the UK. Buckinghamshire has the most National Trust properties in England, is the birthplace of the Paralympic movement and is home to Pinewood Studios – the studios behind blockbusters including James Bond, Star Wars and Harry Potter.
From the buzz of Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Milton Keynes to the smaller market towns including Buckingham, Amersham and Winslow, and characterful villages such as Waddesdon and Brill, there are locations to suit a range of lifestyles and budgets.

Essex
In Essex we deliver services for people with learning disabilities as well as IAPT (Improved Access to Psychological Services) services.

We also provide an inpatient service for people with a learning disability who are so unwell they cannot be treated in the community. Our multi-disciplinary teams – made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, art therapists and qualified learning disability nurses – work with service users and their families to provide the care they need safely and therapeutically. We also provide learning disability (LD) services across the whole of Essex offering mainstream and specialist LD health care.
As a county, Essex offers miles of countryside and open space. There is easy access to 350 miles of coastline – as well as the world’s longest pier at Southend! The county is one of huge variety. The border with London is fairly densely populated, and the South Essex Thames Gateway is an area of real economic growth.
This southern part of the county is very different to the large rural areas of mid and north Essex – where almost 75% of the county’s land area is rolling farmland.
The county offers good schools. Travel links to London and the East of England are excellent and include airports at Stansted and Southend.
Norfolk
We provide learning disability and forensic service sin Norfolk. These include assessment and treatment services for adults with a learning disability at Astley Court, in Little Plumstead, which works alongside the Community Teams run by Norfolk Learning. Difficulties Service.
Our forensic mental health services provide treatment and support for people with mental disorders who have committed serious offences, or who are at risk of doing so. Our forensic inpatient unit – the Broadland Clinic Forensic Service – is a medium secure service for men with learning disability or autism who are considered at risk of doing serious harm to others. We also offer community-based services. We are active members of the Quality Network for Secure Mental Health Services.
As a county, Norfolk has been named as Britain’s most peaceful place with very low levels of crime. It is a very rural county with great beaches, picturesque towns and villages, and the natural beauty of the Norfolk Broads – Britain’s largest protected wetland and the third largest inland waterway.
The city of Norwich boasts a Norman castle and two of the finest cathedrals in the country. The city is also home to Norwich City FC, Leisure plays a big part in local life and the city has 25 parks, gardens and recreation grounds to choose from, as well as cinemas, theatres and other attractions. It is ranked in the Top 10 shopping cities in the UK.
Norwich is also a place of learning with the University of East Anglia, Norwich University College of the Arts, City College Norwich, and many good schools located there.
The county is within easy reach of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire as well as rail transport links to Liverpool Street in London.
Hertfordshire
Hertfordshire is a beautiful county with picturesque, rural villages and a number of lovely, vibrant towns and garden cities.
Ranked in 2016, by uSwitch Better Family Life Index, as the best place to raise a family, Hertfordshire scored highly on top exam results, good pay prospects, high employment rates, fast broadband and better weather than other towns in the Index! It is also well known for its excellent schools, stunning countryside and fantastic local facilities which provide plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy yourself away from work.
Situated just north of London, Hertfordshire is easy to access by road and rail. There are good transport links across the county and it’s simple to get into London if you want to enjoy the benefits of the capital, without the costly living and travelling expenses.
